Braid Vase

Braid Vase

Invoking the same complex and fluid forms found in her iconic architecture, the Braid Vase by Zaha Hadid captures her same exuberant style that helped shape the landscape of contemporary architecture. Rising exuberantly from its base, the vase is comprised of four vertical petals which intertwine to create a dramatic braid-like structure. These sinuous lines continue to the top and form an opening for floral that, once inserted, becomes an extension of the sculptural object, carrying the vertical lines of the holder upwards.

With a career spanning over 30 years, the late Iraqi-born and London-based architect transformed the profession with her designs that expressed strong conceptual and historical awareness. For her boundary-pushing architecture, Hadid has been honored with several awards, including the prestigious Pritzker Architecture Prize. Echoing her ability to translate the sinuous forms of nature into thoroughly modern structures, the Braid Vase is imbued with the same rigor and energy found in her architecture. Whether filled with bold floral or simply left empty as a captivating object, the Braid Vase’s strong sculptural appearance is a welcome addition to the modern home.
