The Muses Sculptures

The Muses Sculptures

The muses of Greek mythology inspire the Muses Sculptures by Belgian artist Renaat Ramon. Made of white ceramic, the abstract objects have been removed of excess ornamentation. The small sculptures are available in 7 shapes each referencing to the seven daughters of Zeus and Mnemosyne: Calliope, Clio, Erato, Euterpe, Melpomene, Terpsichore, and Urania. Each sculpture can be displayed individually or in groups. The Muses embody the arts and inspire creation with their graces. The name of the designer is engraved in the bottom of each sculpture and it is produced in Cores da Terra, the studio of Selma Calheira in Brazil, which has become extremely well known for developing and educating local artisans, as well as for its direct contribution to the economic and cultural development of one of the poorest areas in Brazil.
